What do I do if my account isn't working?

Call the WVLC at 304-558-2045 or email us at wvlcref@wv.gov. Your card just may be expired and we will easily renew it for you.

 

How long can I check out items for?

It depends on the item--

Audiobooks: 21 days

Comics: 21 days

E-books: 21 days

Movies: 72 hours

Television: 72 hours

Music: 7 days

 

What is the difference between Hoopla and Libby?

Hoopla offers e-books, audiobooks, and magazines but they also have movies, television shows, and music. Many of the WVLC titles are available on Hoopla fall under a simultaneous use model meaning that may people can borrow the same title at the same time. Hoopla is associated with MidwestTapes. 

Libby offers e-books, audiobooks, and digitized magazines. Many of the materials found there are loaned on a one copy, one user model meaning that once an item is loaned to you, no one else can borrow that title until you return it. It is associated with Overdrive.

If an e-book, audiobook, or magazine you are looking for isn't on Hoopla, try Libby! You can use both with your WVLC library card.

Does Hoopla's content change?

Hoopla's content is constantly changing, so there are always new titles added, some for a limited time.
