Administrative Rules

2.22. "Policy" means a statement that articulates principles of operation for the library. The board of library directors must formally adopt all policy statements.

3.12.c. Policies covering library operations, collection development, personnel, and technology are formally adopted and forwarded to the Library Commission.

When are my library's policies due?

Each library is on a three-year reporting schedule, as determined by the West Virginia Library Commission.  Each library must submit a copy of their policies by December 31 of their reporting year.  If you are unsure of your library's reporting schedule, please ask.
