Civil Legal Aid Program that helps individuals meeting eligibility requirements with certain civil legal issue cases. Does not handle criminal law, accidents or personal injury issues or class action lawsuits. Legal Aid of West Virginia is a provider of civil legal aid and advocacy services with a mission to serve the most vulnerable among us.

A non-profit, public interest law office providing free legal services to qualifying, low-income West Virginians. Some areas of law covered are abusive debt collection, civil rights, fraud and other consumer issues, health care reform, immigration, mortgage abuses, policy advocacy, special education, and workers' rights.

Lists licensed West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence programs throughout the state with contact information and is searchable by county.

West Virginia Free Legal Answers is a program of the West Virginia State Bar and American Bar Association. It is a website where low-income persons can post questions and get brief advice from volunteer attorneys for free.

WVSLA provides free civil legal services for senior West Virginians age 60 and over. Any West Virginia resident age 60 or over is eligible for their services, and they do not have income limits, but higher levels of service, including legal advice and legal advocacy, may be provided to seniors who are low-income, minority, disabled, very rural, LGBT, or very elderly. The site also provides a wealth of legal information of interest to senior citizens and their families.

On Tuesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., volunteer lawyers take calls from the public on this toll-free line and offer suggestions and guidance. These lawyers can provide general legal information but cannot provide direct advice or legal assistance about your case.
