The Center emphasizes the importance of books and reading to audiences by highlighting the unique literary heritage that abounds from the earliest storytellers to the recent novelists. The center celebrates all West Virginia writers and books related to the state.
The Center partners with many organizations to bring unique programming to the state, including the Kanawha County Public Library for the West Virginia Book Festival and Shepherd University for the Appalachian Heritage Writer-In-Residence.
